The Importance Of Police Officers And Investigating...

In module one I learned many different tasks that I have never known or research about. First of all, when someone calls the emergency number 911, citizens are involving their trust to local authorities. Witness who had the firsthand knowledge of anything in relation to the investigating might become involved later on in the process as well. When patrol officers arrive to the crime scene, their conduct and effective matters the most. Initial investigation is important, but if it fails, it can cause damaging to the rest of the process including apprehension, investigation, and prosecution of offenders. I also learned that attorneys work depends on the lawful activities of the police and investigating officers. Knowing that nobody can come into my home with no exceptions makes me feel safe a bout my privacy. There are two majors of laws criminal and civil. The description of criminal law is that it protects the safety and interest of society. For example if someone is using physical violence, sexual assault, robbery, burglary, or if someone commits a murder weather its first or second degree murder they are considered guilty of a crime. On the other hand, civil law protects the interest of an individual. The two major areas of civil war are torts and contracts. Torts means when someone gets hurt and sues for damages wanting money to pay for injuries. Contract means a legal contract made between two parties. Weather is a house, apartment, or an employment contract. In this module I learned that not everything bad is considered a crime and that as a community we have to understand the difference of a criminal and civil theories. The video â€Å"The Criminal Justice System† introduces all the people that are involved in a crime case.
